Patient Information

This web site is designed with you in mind – the most important person in the entire implant process.

We have focussed our efforts at The Implant Centre in giving information to patients at every stage - before, during and after treatment. With this in mind we would like to make all of the information available to you on the internet.

There is a great deal of detail in the next few pages, and we would suggest taking time to read it as it relates to your journey through treatment. If anything is hard to understand please don’t hesitate to contact us, we will be delighted to explain further and will adapt the web site to feedback.

Why choose The Implant Centre?

Let’s face it – implant dentistry can put a dent in anyone’s wallet! Is it overpriced or value for money? Here we explore what is involved and what you should look for if shopping around for treatment.

QUESTIONS YOU SHOULD ASK BEFORE ATTENDING

Do you offer free assessments?
No. This is the most critical part of the treatment process and from where most mistakes can be traced. Our assessments consist of 1 hour with a dentist, all the required x-rays, detailed planning, models and surgical guides, together with a written treatment plan, all included in one £150 fee.  For more information about treatment costs click here.

Aren’t implants expensive?
Yes. It is a lot to spend on your mouth and it is down to each individual patient to decide if the improvements to quality of life, function and aesthetics are worthwhile. We only ever prescribe treatment that is necessary. If searching for a bargain please keep in mind that we continue to repair many cases from other implant clinics that have gone wrong due to inadequate skills or materials.

Do Implants Ever Go Wrong?
Any surgical procedure can go wrong. In the unlikely event that an implant fails, we offer the choice of a full refund, or to replace the implant completely free of charge. We have usually found that patients wish to try again and that a second failure is exceptionally rare - not a single one since The Implant Centre opened!

How many implants do you place?
In 2008 we placed 882 implants, in 2009 we placed over 1,000 – we now believe that The Implant Centre is the largest centre, in terms of numbers of dental implants placed, of its kind in the UK. This is exceptionally reassuring for both our patients and our referring dentists.

“I have been a regular referrer to The Implant Centre and used to say to my patients “when I need an implant, this is where I’m going”… I recently experienced the placement of a titanium implant from the patient’s perspective…now I can say with first hand experience that The Implant Centre, Haywards Heath showed expert knowledge and superlative all round care”

Mr Andrew J. Whitehouse M.G.D.S, B.D.S, R.C.s (Eng)
Dental Surgeon - Windmill Dental Practice. Southwick, West Sussex

How well qualified are you?
Our "Specialised Dental Surgery" section gives all the details about our dentists including their qualifications and experience, as well as introducing the skilled and experienced team of nurses and support staff who will take care of you at the centre. Our surgeons lecture throughout the world, are recognised as Mentors for the Association of Dental Implantology and teach up-and-coming implant dentists both simple and advanced implant techniques

What implants do you use?
We choose the best system for each individual case. The four main implant systems that we use are Ankylos, Nobel Biocare, Astra and Bicon. There are cheaper systems available but they do not have the research, quality, backup and reliability that we require. We are also aware of clinics in the UK using copy implants. Just like any other fake goods they rarely live up to expectations and we will NEVER risk our patient’s care, security and the longevity of their results with fake implant components. Always look for reviews and testimonials from real patients to establish the true quality of a dental implant clinic.

"The treatment I received was superb, caused no pain only slight discomfort and I am delighted with the result"
